First post- A whale Hello

Posted on

Hello Friends,

This is Neha Bhatt from Periwinkle Creations, and I am super excited to write my first post as a  Letz Craft DT member. Jovita is a very good friend of mine and an amazing person to work with. Another reason to be happy is the whole super talented fellow DT team members. Can’t ask for more! Thank you Jovi for giving me this opportunity!

Today, I am sharing two cards. For both of them I have used a mini stamp set –Whale Hello by Avery Elle and a Layering stencil – Splash by Tim Holtz!

I Love this set because it has two beautiful stamps of whale and 5 sentiments for various occasions which makes it very versatile.

For this card, I have created a smaller than A2 panel with the help of various Distress Oxides. Yes, I made pink sea…well, love makes you see things differently….:) I cut the edge of panel using circle punch to mimic waves. It was mounted on A2 size Bielo card base.  Sand bottom is made using kraft card stock and a die. Whales are stamped with ranger Black Archival ink on Tim Holtz Watercolour Cardstock, coloured with water colours and fussy cut.

That shiny sand is created using Versamark Pen and Nuvo- Silver Moonlight Embossing powder. It is a dense glittery embossing powder and looks amazing in person. I masked the stencil and used part of it to make those spatters. The sentiment is stamped using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Second Card:

This card is a perfect example to show how I use my pattern paper and how they inspire a card design. I have used same Avery Elle stamp with Pinkfresh Studio’s Indigo Hill papers. These are beautiful papers. Front of A2 card is covered with blue floral paper which is the inspiration for that blue textured on whale. There are tiny water drop stamps in the set. I used them with Versamark Embossing ink and  Ranger White Embossing powder to create pattern on the whale. I coloured whale in grey water color and those spots in blue to match with pattern paper. I cut a window from a small white panel using mft die. I used another piece of pattern paper for the backdrop of window. Yes, that is a pattern paper except those tiny fish which i stamped with grey ink. Sentiment and lil heart  is stamped in Versafine black and red ink.

Check the detailing on whale in above picture.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Please feel free to ask any question you have. Thank you!
